  1. ikiwiki (2.41) UNRELEASED; urgency=low
  2. [ Adeodato Simó ]
  3. * Preprocessor directives generated by the shortcut plugin accept a `desc`
  4. parameter that overrides the anchor text provided at shortcut definition
  5. time. (Closes: #458126)
  6. [ martin f. krafft ]
  7. * The meta plugin now allows for the robots tag to be specified without the
  8. risk of it being scrubbed.
  9. * Let meta.openid set X-XRDS-Location header
  10. * Make makerepo set the Git merge remote.
  11. branch.master.remote previously used to default to origin, which has
  12. recently been changed; it now needs to be set explicitly, which this
  13. patch does. Closes: #470517
  14. * meta: Also generate openid2 headers.
  15. * Handle SimpleXMLRPCDispatcher arg count change in python 2.5
  16. * Provide XML-RPC proxy abstraction for Python plugins.
  17. [ Joey Hess ]
  18. * Add recentchangesdiff plugin that adds diffs to the recentchanges feeds.
  19. * rcs_diff is a new function that rcs modules should implement.
  20. * Implemented rcs_diff for git, svn, and tla (tla version untested).
  21. Mercurial and monotone still todo.
  22. * Support Text::Markdown::markdown, which is the spelling used by
  23. version 1.0.16 of Text::Markdown.
  24. * Updated Spanish translation from Victor Moral.
  25. * Fix example exclude regexp. Closes: #469691
  26. * Remove locking code in git rcs_commit. I'm not sure if this was ever
  27. correct, and it's certianly not correct now, since the wiki is locked
  28. before rcs_commit is ever called, and should not be unlocked by
  29. rcs_commit either.
  30. * monotone: Require version 0.38 or greater, and stop using the mtnmergerc
  31. option. (Brian May)
  32. * Use forcebaseurl to make page previews be displayed with the html base
  33. set to the destination page. This avoids need for hacks to munge the urls
  34. in preview mode, which fixes several bugs.
  35. * Several destpage fixes in plugins.
  36. * Use absolute url for feedurl when filling out the feed templates.
  37. Closes: #470530
  38. * Fix expiry of old recentchanges changeset pages.
  39. * French translation update. Closes: #471010
  40. * external: Fix support of XML::RPC::fault.
  41. * htmltidy: Pass --markup yes, in case tidy's config file disabled it.
  42. * external: Add getargv and setargv methods to allow access to ikiwiki's
  43. @ARGV.
  44. * Correct bug in encoding of %pagestate keys, fixes edittemplate.
  45. * Detect invalid pagespecs and do not merge them in add_depends,
  46. as that can result in a broken merged pagespec that matches nothing.
  47. * Record new pages in %pagesources temporarily when previewing so that
  48. things that need to know the page source or type can query it from there.
  49. Fixes previewing of tables when creating a new page.
  50. * German translation update. Closes: #471540
  51. * Time::Duration is no longer used, remove from docs and recommends.
  52. * Store userinfo in network byte order for easy portability.
  53. (Old files will be automatically converted.)
  54. * Close meta tag for redir properly.

  56. ikiwiki (2.40) unstable; urgency=low
  57. [ Josh Triplett ]
  58. * Add new preprocessor directive syntax¸ using a '!' prefix. Add a
  59. prefix_directives option to the setup file to turn this syntax on;
  60. currently defaults to false, for backward compatibility. Support
  61. optional '!' prefix even with prefix_directives off, and use that in
  62. the underlay to support either setting of prefix_directives. Add NEWS
  63. entry with migration information.
  64. [ Joey Hess ]
  65. * Danish translation update from Jonas Smedegaard. Closes: #465152
  66. * Generate XML RPC messages with the encoding set to utf-8 instead
  67. of XML::RPC's default of us-ascii. Allows interoperation with
  68. python's xmlrpc library, which threw invalid encoding exceptions and
  69. caused the rst plugin to hang.
  70. * Add the linkify and scan hooks. These hooks can be used to implement
  71. custom, first-class types of wikilinks.
  72. * Move standard wikilink implementation to a new link plugin, which
  73. will of course be enabled by default.
  74. * camelcase: Convert to use new linkify and scan hooks rather than the old
  75. hack.
  76. * Setting NOTAINT=1 had no effect when building ikiwiki itself, fix this.
  77. * Depend on HTML::Scrubber, since the scrubber is enabled by default and
  78. dies if its can't be loaded.
  79. * The search plugin needs to override <base> to point to the directory
  80. containing ikiwiki.cgi, but this should not change the urls to the style
  81. sheets etc. Add a new forcebareurl parameter to misctemplate to allow
  82. it to do that.
  83. * Preview limits the page dropdown to what's selected previously
  84. (as preserving the full list across preview would be tricky). Userdirs
  85. were still being offered as an option there, remove them.
  86. * Fix a bug where user A created a page concurrently with user B, and
  87. when B previewed it would redirect B to A's new page, losing B's work.
  88. Instead, don't redirect and let conflict handling resolve it.
  89. * monotone: Add code to default mergerc file to run
  90. _MTN/ikiwiki-netsync-hook when a commit is merged in from the net.
  91. * tla: Remove call to escapeHTML when constructing recentchanges message;
  92. the html is escaped at a different level. Closes: #466495
  93. * bzr, mercurial: Remove unused import of escapeHTML.
  94. * Fix another preview will_render bug. This one involved inline,
  95. which forced a scan of the page to make available metadata that
  96. appeared after the inline directive. Problem is that scan made it forget
  97. about any other files rendered due to the page. The scan also turns out
  98. to be unnecessary now, since meta persistently stores state and it's
  99. always available. So it was just removed.
  100. * Disable taint checking for all builds as people keep complaining about it,
  101. and since all versions of perl seem to be hopelessly broken.
  102. * Fix links generated by preprocessor directives when previewing.
  103. * inline: When forcing urls absolute for rss feeds, skip mailto and other
  104. such urls.
  105. * ikiwiki-makerepo: Don't fail if the third argument ends in a slash.
  106. * Allow colons in URLs after the first slash. (Adeodato Simó)

  108. ikiwiki (2.31.3) unstable; urgency=high
  109. [ Josh Triplett ]
  110. * Do not allow the about: URI scheme; some browsers interpret about:
  111. URIs like a limited version of data: URIs. In particular, some
  112. versions of Internet Explorer interpret arbitrary HTML content in
  113. about: URIs.
  114. * Also filter the attributes cite, longdesc, and usemap, which can contain
  115. URIs.
  116. [ Joey Hess ]
  117. * meta: Check that the urls provided for authorurl, permalink, and openid
  118. are safe and can't contain javascript.
  119. [ Josh Triplett ]
  120. * Match literal '.' in URI schemas containing '.', rather than matching any
  121. character.
  122. * Do not allow the steam: URI scheme.
  123. * Allow the snews: URI scheme.
  124. * Allow the smb: URI scheme.

  126. ikiwiki (2.31.2) unstable; urgency=high
  127. * The security fix in the last release had buggy handling of data:image,
  128. now fixed. Closes: #465110 (CVE-2008-0808, CVE-2008-0809)
  129. -- Joey Hess <joeyh@debian.org> Sun, 10 Feb 2008 15:31:17 -0500
  130. ikiwiki (2.31.1) unstable; urgency=low
  131. * htmlscrubber security fix: Block javascript in uris.
  132. * Add htmlscrubber test suite.
  133. * Thanks to Josh Triplett for pointing out the holes and for his help
  134. in implementing and checking fixes.
  135. -- Joey Hess <joeyh@debian.org> Sun, 10 Feb 2008 13:22:59 -0500
  136. ikiwiki (2.31) unstable; urgency=low
  137. [ Joey Hess ]
  138. * Revert preservation of input file modification times in output files,
  139. since this leads to too many problems with web caching, especially with
  140. inlined pages. Properly solving this would involve tracking every page
  141. that contributes to a page's content and using the youngest of them all,
  142. as well as special cases for things like the version plugin, and it's just
  143. too complex to do.
  144. * aggregate: Forking a child broke the one state that mattered: Forcing
  145. the aggregating page to be rebuilt. Fix this.
  146. * cgi hooks are now run before ikiwiki state is loaded.
  147. * This allows locking the wiki before loading state, which avoids some
  148. tricky locking code when saving a web edit.
  149. * poll: This plugin turns out to have edited pages w/o doing any locking.
  150. Oops. Convert it from a cgi to a sessioncgi hook, which will work
  151. much better.
  152. * recentchanges: Improve handling of links on the very static changes pages
  153. by thunking to the CGI, which can redirect to the page, or allow it to be
  154. created if it doesn't exist.
  155. * recentchanges: Exipre all *._change pages, even if the directory
  156. they're in has changed.
  157. * aggregate: Lots of changes; aggregation can now run without locking the
  158. wiki, and there is a separate aggregatelock to prevent multiple concurrent
  159. aggregation runs.
  160. * monotone changes by Brian May:
  161. - On commits, replace "mtn sync" bidirectional with "mtn push" single
  162. direction. No need to pull changes when doing a commit. mtn sync
  163. is still called in rcs_update.
  164. - Support for viewing differences via patches using viewmtn.
  165. * inline: When previewing, still call will_render on rss/atom files,
  166. just avoid actually writing the files. This is necessary because ikiwiki
  167. saves state after a preview (in case it actually *did* write files),
  168. and if will_render isn't called its security checks will get upset
  169. when the page is saved. Thanks to Edward Betts for his help tracking this
  170. tricky bug down.
  171. * inline: Add new `allowrss` and `allowatom` config options. These can be
  172. used if you want a wiki that doesn't default to generating rss or atom
  173. feeds, but that does allow them to be turned on for specific blogs.
  174. * Don't die if running with --getctime and rcs_getctime throws an error.
  175. There are several cases (recentchanges files, aggregated files)
  176. where some source files are not in revision control.
  177. * Page templates can now use CTIME to show when the page was created.
  178. [ Josh Triplett ]
  179. * README.Debian: Mention user wikilists.
  180. -- Joey Hess <joeyh@debian.org> Sat, 09 Feb 2008 23:09:45 -0500
  181. ikiwiki (2.30) unstable; urgency=low
  182. [ Joey Hess ]
  183. * Old versions of git-init don't support --git-dir or GIT_DIR with
  184. --bare. Change ikiwiki-makerepo to use a method that should work with
  185. those older versions too.
  186. * aggregate: Don't let feeds set creation times for pages in the future.
  187. * Add full parser for git diff-tree output (Brian Downing)
  188. * aggregate: Fork a child process to handle the aggregation. This simplifies
  189. the code, since that process can change internal state as needed, and
  190. it will automatically be cleaned up for the parent process, which proceeds
  191. to render the changes.
  192. [ Josh Triplett ]
  193. * Add trailing comma to commented-out umask in sample ikiwiki.setup, so
  194. that uncommenting it does not break the setup file.
  195. [ Joey Hess ]
  196. * inline: The template can check for FIRST and LAST, which will be
  197. set for the first and last inlined page. Useful for templates that build
  198. tables and the like.
  199. * prettydate, ddate: Don't ignore time formats passed to displaytime
  200. function.
  201. * Pages with extensions starting with "_" are internal-use, and will
  202. not be rendered or web-edited, or matched by normal pagespecs.
  203. * Add "internal()" pagespec that matches internal-use pages.
  204. * RecentChanges is now a static html page, that's updated whenever a commit
  205. is made to the wiki. It's built as a blog using inline, so it can have
  206. an rss feed that users can subscribe to.
  207. * Removed support for sending commit notification mails. Along with it went
  208. the svnrepo and notify settings, though both will be ignored if left in
  209. setup files. Also gone with it is the "user()" pagespec.
  210. * Add refresh hook.
  211. * meta: Add pagespec functions to match against title, author, authorurl,
  212. license, and copyright. This can be used to create custom RecentChanges.
  213. * meta: To support the pagespec functions, metadata about pages has to be
  214. retained as pagestate.
  215. * Fix encoding bug when pagestate values contained spaces.
  216. * Add support for bzr, written by Jelmer Vernooij. Thanks also to bma for
  217. his independent work on bzr support.
  218. * Copyright file updates.
  219. -- Joey Hess <joeyh@debian.org> Sat, 02 Feb 2008 17:41:57 -0500
  220. ikiwiki (2.20) unstable; urgency=low
  221. * inline: Add copyright/license info on a per-post basis to atom
  222. feeds if available. (rss doesn't allow such info on a per-post basis)
  223. * Also include overall copyright/license and author info in atom feeds if
  224. available.
  225. * meta: Allow copyright/license metadata to contain arbitrary markup.
  226. * Call preprocessor hooks in void context during the scan pass. This allows
  227. the hook to determine if it's just scanning, and avoid expensive
  228. operations.
  229. * img: Detect scan mode and avoid generating and writing the image file
  230. during it, for a 2x speedup.
  231. * meta: Run in scan mode again (more intelligently) and re-add support for
  232. meta link.
  233. * Fix support for the case where metadata appears after an inline directive
  234. that needs to use it. This was broken in version 2.16.
  235. * template: Remove bogus htmlize pass added in 2.16.
  236. * template: Htmlize template variables, but also provide a raw version
  237. via `<TMPL_VAR raw_variable>`.
  238. * When htmlizing text, if the input is a single line with no newline,
  239. and the htmlizer (such as markdown and textile) generates a html
  240. paragraph, remove it. This allows removing several hacks from other
  241. plugins that htmlize fragements of pages.
  242. * In preferences, allow the subscriptions and email fields to be cleared.
  243. * teximg: Fix to support the same formula on multiple pages.
  244. -- Joey Hess <joeyh@debian.org> Thu, 10 Jan 2008 14:52:57 -0500
  245. ikiwiki (2.19) unstable; urgency=low
  246. * Only try postsignin if no other action matched. Fixes a bug where the
  247. user goes back from the signin screen and does something else.
  248. * Improve behavior when trying to sign in with no cookies.
  249. * Improved the canedit hook interface, allowing a callback function to be
  250. returned (and not run in some cases) rather than the plugins directly
  251. forcing a user to log in.
  252. * opendiscussion: allow editing of the toplevel discussion page,
  253. and, indirectly, allow creating new discussion pages.
  254. * Add a prereq on Data::Dumper 2.11 or better, needed to dump q// objects.
  255. * htmlscrubber: Further work around #365971 by adding tags for 'br/', 'hr/'
  256. and 'p/'.
  257. * aggregate: Include copyright statements from rss feed as meta copyright
  258. directives.
  259. * aggregate: Yet another state saving fix (sigh).
  260. * aggregate: Add hack to support feeds with invalidly escaped html entities.
  261. -- Joey Hess <joeyh@debian.org> Tue, 08 Jan 2008 20:43:18 -0500
  262. ikiwiki (2.18) unstable; urgency=low
  263. * Split error messages for failures to drop real uid and gid.
  264. * Retry dropping uid and gid, possibly this will help with the "Resource
  265. temporarily unavailable" failures I've experienced under xen.
  266. * Stop testing Encode::is_utf8 in decode_form_utf8: That doesn't work.
  267. * decode_form_utf8 only fixed the utf-8 encoding for fields that were
  268. registered at the time it was called, which was before the
  269. formbuilder_setup hook. Fields added by the hook didn't get decoded.
  270. But it can't be put after the hook either, since plugins using the hook
  271. need to be able to use form values. To fix this dilemma, it's been changed
  272. to a decode_cgi_utf8, which is called on the cgi query object, before the
  273. form is set up, and decodes *all* cgi parameters.
  274. * aggregate: Only save state if it was already loaded. This didn't used to
  275. matter, but after recent changes, state is not always loaded, and saving
  276. would kill it.
  277. * table: Fix dependency tracking for external data files. Closes: #458387
  278. -- Joey Hess <joeyh@debian.org> Sat, 05 Jan 2008 02:15:18 -0500
  279. ikiwiki (2.17) unstable; urgency=low
  280. * Improved parentlinks special case for index pages.
  281. * redir: Support for specifying anchors.
  282. * img: Avoid nesting images when linking to another image. Closes: #457780
  283. * img: Allow the link parameter to point to an exterior url.
  284. * conditional: Improve regexp testing for simple uses of pagespecs
  285. that match only the page using the directive, adding 'included()'
  286. and supporting negated pagespecs and added whitespace.
  287. * map: Fix handling of common prefix to handle the case where it's
  288. in a subdirectory. Patch by Larry Clapp.
  289. * aggregate: Fix stupid mistake introduced when converting it to use
  290. the needsbuild hook. This resulted in feeds not being removed when pages
  291. were updated, and feeds sometimes being forgotten about.
  292. * aggregate: Avoid uninitialised value warning when removing a feed that
  293. has an expired guid.

  295. ikiwiki (2.16) unstable; urgency=low
  296. * Major basewiki reorganisation. Most pages moved into ikiwiki/ subdirectory
  297. to avoid polluting the main namespace, and some were further renamed.
  298. * meta: Add redir support, based on a patch by Thomas Schwinge.
  299. * Redirs added for moved basewiki pages. These will be removed in a future
  300. release.
  301. * Remove .otl file from sandbox to avoid build ugliness. Closes: #454181
  302. * Finally implemented a simple per-page data storage mechanism for plugins,
  303. via the %pagestate hash.
  304. * Use pagestate in meta to detect potential redir loops.
  305. * Added a version plugin that saves state about what's using it, to force
  306. pages to rebuild when ikiwiki's version changes.
  307. * The calendar plugin stores state about when it needs to be updated,
  308. and forces rebuilds of the pages that contain calendars. So
  309. running ikiwiki --refresh at midnight is now enough, no need for a full
  310. wiki rebuild each midnight.
  311. * calendar: Work around block html parsing bug in markdown 1.0.1 by
  312. enclosing the calendar in an extra div.
  313. * Fix file pruning code to work if ikiwiki is run with "." as the srcdir.
  314. * Add an edittemplate plugin, allowing registering template pages, that
  315. provide default content for new pages created using the web frontend.
  316. * Change formbuilder hook to not be responsible for displaying a form,
  317. so that more than one plugin can use this hook.
  318. I believe this is a safe change, since only passwordauth uses this hook.
  319. (If some other plugin already used it, it would have broken passwordauth!)
  320. * Ensure that web edited pages always end in a newline.
  321. * Avoid unnecessary stat calls to get mtime when rendering pages, use
  322. cached value.
  323. * Preserve input file modification times in output files.
  324. * Allow dashes in preprocessor directive commands, and shortcuts.
  325. * Htmlize parameters passed to the template preprocessor directive before
  326. inserting them into the html template. This ensures that markdown
  327. acts on them, even if the value is expanded inside a block-level html
  328. element in the html template. Closes: #454058
  329. * Use a div in the note template rather than a span.
  330. * shortcut: Expand %S to the raw input text, not url-encoded.
  331. * Don't increment feed numbers when an inline has no feeds. (Nis Martensen)
  332. * Allow editing a page and deleting all content, while still disallowing
  333. creating a new page that's entirely empty.
  334. * meta: Drop support for "meta link", since supporting this for internal
  335. links required meta to be run during scan, which complicated its data
  336. storage, since it had to clear data stored during the scan pass to avoid
  337. duplicating it during the normal preprocessing pass.
  338. * If you used "meta link", you should switch to either "meta openid" (for
  339. openid delegations), or tags (for internal, invisible links). I assume
  340. that nobody really used "meta link" for external, non-openid links, since
  341. the htmlscrubber ate those. (Tell me differently and I'll consider bringing
  342. back that support.)
  343. * meta: Improved data storage.
  344. * meta: Drop the hackish filter hook that was used to clear
  345. stored data before preprocessing, this hack was ugly, and broken (cf:
  346. liw's disappearing openids).
  347. * aggregate: Convert filter hook to a needsbuild hook.
  348. * map: Don't inline images.
  349. * brokenlinks: Don't list the same link multiple times. (%links might
  350. contain multiple copies of the same link)
  351. * git: Correct display of multiline commit messages in recentchanges.
  352. * Re-organise dependencies and recommends now that recommends are installed
  353. by default.
  354. * Don't refuse to render files with ".." in their name. (Anchor the regexp.)
  355. * Work around perl taint checking bug #411786, where perl sometimes randomly
  356. sets the taint flag on untainted variables, by disabling taint checking
  357. in the deb. This sucks.

  360. * Add a new ikiwiki-makerepo program, that automates setting up a repo
  361. and importing existing content for svn, git, and mercurial. This makes
  362. the setup process much simpler.
  363. * Reorganised git documentation.
  364. * Actually install the ikiwiki-update-wikilist program.
  365. * Improve workaround for perl bug #376329. Rather than double-encoding,
  366. which has been reported to cause encoding problems (though I haven't
  367. reproduced them), just catch a failure of markdown, and retry.

  375. * Security fix: Ensure that there are no symlinks anywhere in the path
  376. to the top of the srcdir. In certian unusual configurations, an attacker
  377. who could commit to one of the parent directories of the srcdir could

  388. * Add wrappergroup config option, which can be used to cause wrappers
  389. to be created owned by some group other than the default. Useful
  390. then there's a shared repository with access controlled by a group,
  391. to let ikiwiki run setgid to that group.
  392. * ikiwiki-mass-rebuild: Run build with the user in all their groups.
  393. * Correct markdown in example index page in setup. Closes: #451469
  394. * Better error message when a setup file has a syntax error.
  395. Closes: #451666
  396. * Fix mercurial historyurl in example setup file.
  397. * More compact output for the brokenlinks plugin.
  398. * Allow trailing slashes after page names in wikilinks.
  399. * Don't consider links to anchors on the same page to be self links.
  400. Patch by Daniel Burrows. Closes: #451729

  406. stopping collecting the header text at the first element.

  410. * Fix some issues with toggles in preview mode.
  411. * Fix an aggregate plugin expiry bug. Over time, it's possible for the same
  412. page name to be expired and reused for several distinct guids. When this
  413. happened, the expiry code counted each past guid that had used that page
  414. name as a currently existing page, and thus expired too many pages.
  415. * Avoid a race in the git rcs_commit function, by not assuming HEAD will
  416. stay the same for the duration of the function.
  417. * Avoid using commands like git-diff and instead use "git diff".
  418. In some configurations, only the main git command is in the path.
  419. * Improve the RecentChanges display for git merges, by passing -c instead
  420. of -m to git-log, and by skipping display of commits that change no
  421. pages.
  422. * Don't truncate git commit messages to the first line in RecentChanges,
  423. show the full message.
  424. * map: Recent changes caused unnecessary ul's to be inserted for items
  425. that were all at the same level, fix. Closes: #449285

  428. * Add xmlns attribute on html element in templates; pages can now
  429. validate.

  431. * In the example setup file, use mode 6755 for the git post-update hook.
  432. It needs to be setgid if the master repo is a shared repository, so
  433. that pushes into the working copy repository happen as the same group,
  434. avoiding permissions problems.
  435. * The first git commit legitimately has no parents. Avoid recentchanges
  436. spewing uninitialised value warnings and debug messages about it.
  437. Dummying up a parent of 0000000 allows gitweb to work too.

  440. * Correct a pair of logic errors that triggered if svnpath was empty.
  441. * If gitorigin_branch is set to the empty string, don't push or pull.
  442. Useful for laptop clones of remote wikis.
  443. * Add a calendar plugin, contributed by Manoj Srivastava.
  444. * Reformat calendar plugin to ikiwiki conventions.
  445. * The calendar plugin made *every* page depend on every other page,
  446. which seemed a wee tiny little bit overkill. Fixed the dependency
  447. calculations (I hope.)
  448. * Removed manual ctime statting code, and just have the calendar plugin use
  449. %pagectime.
  450. * Ikiwiki has moved into a git repository.
  451. * postsparkline: Avoid a confusing error message if no pages match
  452. and instead show an empty graph.
  453. * Add handling of feeds for nested inlines, as well as support for a
  454. single page containing two different feeds.
  455. * Also fixed some places in inline that failed to use destpage correctly.
  456. * ikiwiki-mass-rebuild: Patch from HenrikBrixAndersen to fix order
  457. of permissions dropping code to work on FreeBSD.

  463. * Tidy ctime debug output for git.
  464. * French translation update. Closes: #445923
  465. * Fix --get-ctime with git, needed to remove srcdir from filename.
  466. * In the cgi edit path, reload the index file before rendering. A bug
  467. showed up where a web edit that added a page caused a near-concurrent
  468. web edit to fail in will_render. While it would be hard to reproduce this,
  469. my analysis is that the failing cgi started first, loaded the index file
  470. (prior to locking) then the other cgi created the new page and rendered
  471. it, and then the failing cgi choked on the new file when _it_ tried to
  472. render it. Ensuring that the index file is loaded after taking the lock
  473. will avoid this bug.
  474. * Fix strange stderr-hiding code in the git module, allow error messages
  475. to be passed on to stderr. Also fixes a potential bug, since git error
  476. meesages were treated as if they came from git stdout.
  477. * Add a "createlink" class attribute to the span for wikilinks pointing
  478. to not-yet-existing pages. I don't have a useful style defined for that
  479. though.
  480. * Rewritten rst plugin by madduck is a python program that communicates with
  481. ikiwiki via XML RPC. This should be much faster than the old plugin that
  482. had to fork python for every rst page render. Note that if you use
  483. the rst plugin, you now need to have the RPC::XML perl module installed.

  497. * Add class option to htmllink().
  498. * img: Allow link=somepage to cause the image to link to a given page.
  499. Slight overriding of link, as link=no is still used to disable the linking
  500. entirely. Unless you have a page named "no"..
  501. * Save index after previewing page edit, since even previewing can create
  502. files in some situations, and this is appropriate in some cases, such as
  503. the teximg plugin's error log file.
  504. Such files will be automatically cleaned up at an appopriate later time.
  505. * Don't allow whitespace in link text in a wikilink. This was still
  506. allowed by the regexp in one case though not documented to work, and

1287. * Add a separate pass to find page links, and only render each page once,
1288. instead of over and over. Typical speedup is ~4x. Max possible speedup:
  1289. 8x.
1290. * Add "scan" parameter to hook(), which is used to make the hook be called

1770. defaults to not processing .html files, since w/o this plugin they would
1771. be copied unsanitised. With this plugin, it will process and html
1772. sanitise them, like any other page type.
1773. * Rebuilding wrappers is necessary on upgrade to this version.

1798. layer, which led to lots of problems; make it force read files as utf-8.
  1799. Closes: #373203
1800. * Note that as a consequence, this version of ikiwiki will actually try to
1801. parse utf8 in source files for the first time, which may expose broken
1802. utf8 in wiki sources that was hidden before. Most common will be
1803. perl warnings like "utf8 "\xE9" does not map to Unicode"
1804. * writefile() likewise needs to use the utf8 output layer.
1805. * Remove the -CSD from ikiwiki's hashbang since it's useless to have it
  1806. there.
1807. * Revert some of the decode_utf8 changes in CGI.pm that seem unnecessary
  1808. given the readfile fix.
1809. * Add utf-8 testcases for readfile and htmlize.
1810. * Put back the encode_utf8 in the input to markdown; it's really not utf-8
  1811. safe.
1812. * More utf-8 fixes from Recai, partly to things I broke above:
1813. - The serious problem is that writefile() saves the content in undecoded
1814. format in CGI, hence all (non-ascii) chars are corrupted permanently.
1815. - Comment field in edit page is not decoded and all the non-ascii chars in
1816. this field are corrupted as the result. We should decode it as we do it
  1817. for the content.
1818. - Add 'use encoding "utf8"' to CGI.pm to avoid warnings about wide

1827. * Patch from Dr. Zini to add link() and backlink() to globlists. This allows
1828. for some handy stuff like:
1829. - Using links as a kind of tag; creating blog pages that list all pages
1830. containing a given tag/link or not containing some other tag.
1831. - Subscribing to mail notifications whenever a change is made to a page
1832. that is a backlink of page foo. Ie, "Please notify me of changes in all
1833. pages that link to my home page in the wiki"
1834. - Locking any pages that are linked to from a particular page, so that
1835. lists of locks can be exposed in the wiki.
  1836. * Reorganised the doc wiki's todo/* pages, using a link/tag to flag
1837. when a todo item is done, instead of the previous moving it to a different
  1838. subdir.
1839. * Allow pagetemplate plugins to override *anything* in the template.
1840. * Add a meta plugin, which allows specifying various metadata about pages,

1846. * Add support for using git instead of subversion as the RCS backend,
1847. tremendous thanks to Recai Oktaş for this.
1848. * Doc updates for git.
1849. * Fix absolute url munging in rss generation to support https, ftp, etc urls
  1850. not just http urls.
1851. * Patch from Recai Oktaş to improve utf-8 support, it should now use proper
1852. utf-8 for edit and other fields, and for recentchanges. There may still
1853. be utf-8 issues with the preferences page though.

  1855. ikiwiki (1.4) unstable; urgency=low
1856. * Tell HTML::Scrubber to treat "/" as a valid attribute which is its
1857. very strange way of enabling proper XHTML <br /> type tags. Output html
1858. should be always valid again now.
1859. * The page name and parent links has switched from using a <h1> to a styled
1860. <span>, so pages can use <h1> internally instead of needing to use <h2>.
1861. * Updated all of ikiwiki's own wiki pages for that.
1862. * Add pagetemplate hook, which can be used by plugins that want to mess
1863. around with adding new stuff to the page template.
1864. * Remove headercontent; the search plugin now adds the search box to the
1865. header by registering a pagetemplate hook, and other plugins should do
  1866. similarly.
1867. * Rebuilding on upgrade to this version is recommended.
1868. * Add a html validity check to the test suite, using the wdg-html-validator,
  1869. if available.
1870. * Make the html valid when there is nothing in the actions list.
1871. * Reordered some function call parameters for consistency.
1872. * Enable full utf-8 support for page input and output.
1873. * Add a workaround for markdown, which does not work well with utf-8
  1874. strings.
1875. * --getctime had bitrotted (well I only ever used it the once so far..),
1876. fix and make it a bit more flexible
1877. * rcs_getctime is changed, now rather than needing to loop over all pages,
1878. it should just use the rcs to get the ctime of the passed file.
1879. * When inlining a page in another one, links from the inlined page are now
1880. expanded the same as they are when rendering the inlined page as a
1881. standalone page. So rather than being expanded from the POV of the
1882. inlining page, they are expanded from the POV of the inlined page.
1883. For example, a link from blog/foo to "bar" will now link to blog/bar
1884. if it exists. Previously this needed to be a link explicitly to
1885. "blog/bar"; such links will also continue to work.
1886. (This was slightly complex to do as the link still has to be constructed
1887. relative to the inlining page.)
1888. * Make page edit textarea resize to fit browser window.
1889. * Add -refresh option to ikiwiki-mass-rebuild and use that on upgrades that
1890. do not need a full rebuild, in order to update any basewiki pages.

1896. * Remove dups from the brokenlinks list.
1897. * Add libc6-dev to dependencies, needed to build wrappers.
1898. * Install wikilist in correct location. Closes: #367371

  1900. ikiwiki (1.1) unstable; urgency=low
1901. * Rename inlinepage to depends, so that it can be used to refer to more
1902. dependency relationships than just inlining. This will require a rebuild
1903. on upgrade to this version.
1904. * Move the rss link, put it in the blogpost form if there is one and at the
1905. top if not. This is both nicer because easier to find, and it cleans up
1906. the code which had used inlinepage as a flag for adding the link later.
1907. * Allow the depends GlobList to be built up from multiple sources (such as
1908. plugins) during a page render.
1909. * Which means that more than one blog is now supported to appear on a
1910. single page. (With some limitations, like only the last one getting an
  1911. rss file.)
  1912. * Added a plugin system.
1913. * Added a pagecount plugin, enabled by default.
1914. * Support PreProcessorDirectives with no parameters, ie "[[pagecount ]]".
1915. * Fixed/optimised backlinks code, to avoid rebuilding pages to update
1916. backlinks when the backlinks hadn't really changed.
1917. * Moved inline page support, rss generation etc into the inline plugin,
  1918. enabled by default.
1919. * Added brokenlinks plugin, not enabled by default, but rather handy.
1920. * Fix several broken links in the doc wiki.
1921. * Smarter behavior when creating a page and a page of the same name (but
  1922. different location) already exists.
1923. * Add an orphans plugin for finding pages that nothing links to.
1924. * Removed backlinks page, which it turns out nothing used.
1925. * Split off an IkiWiki.pm out of ikiwiki and have all the other modules use
1926. it, this will allow for adding a unit test suite.
1927. * Add unit tests for several core functions, including globlist_match,
1928. dirname, basename, bestlink, linkify, pagetitle, titlepage.
  1929. * Smart globlist merging.
1930. * Patch from Thomas Schwinge to switch from --svn to --rcs=svn, etc,
1931. to pave the way for adding other RCS support. This also changes the
1932. setup files, where before they had svn => 1 or svn => 0, now they have
  1933. rcs => "svn" or rcs => "".
  1934. * Add a debian/NEWS file with upgrade notes.
1935. * Load whatever rcs module is specified, so new ones can be just dropped in
1936. as plugins and work. (Well, in theory.)
1937. * Add some basic docs about writing RCS modules.
1938. * Broke search capability out into a plugin, removed the --hyperestraier
  1939. switch.
1940. * Added smiley plugin, nicely controlled and documented by the smileys page.
1941. * Copied in some smileys from Moin Moin.
1942. * Allow links of the form [[some page|page]], with whitespace in the link
  1943. text.
1944. * Removed --sanitize and --no-sanitize, replaced with --plugin htmlscrubber
  1945. and --disable-plugin htmlscrubber.
1946. * Allow discussion links on pages to be turned off with --no-discussion.
1947. * Add ikiwiki-mass-rebuild script, ripped out of the postinst.
1948. * Add some new config items to the estseek.conf template, which are needed
  1949. by hyperestraier 1.2.3.
